Women's travel makeup, beauty products, and travel accessories should include sample sizes for skin care and cleansers. Trial size kits stash easily into bags.

Most women want travel makeup and beauty products in small sizes, but locating the right stuff can be difficult. There are travel accessories which help, but consider buying sample sizes for skin care and makeup. Another option is to find promotional trial size kits.

It’s almost impossible for Boomer Chicks to remember everything for a trip, but after packing travel documents and credit cards, it’s good to know that almost anything else can be purchased in most destinations.

On the other hand, it’s nice to pack little goodies that will make life easier on vacation. And, it’s great to have a little help when trying to look good.

Facial Cleansers and Skin Care

While it’s always possible to bring liquid cleansers and toners on a trip, many women have found that cleansing wipes are easier to transport and very convenient.

Wipes at Sephora.com:

  • Korres Pomegranate Cleansing & Make Up Removing Wipes for Oily and Combination Skin. Most women love these and find that they take off make up easily. Consider throwing them into a zip lock baggie if traveling to a warmer climate.
  • Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths. These are supposed to be great for gals who are too tired to wash their faces after a long flight.

Cleanser Kits:

Usually kits are used to promote new products or introduce new customers to different skin care systems. Most of the products come in small travel-size containers or tubes that are hard to break.

  • Sephora.com: Shiseido Skincare 1 2 3 Moisturizing Hydratant. The foam cleanser and moisturizer are great for older skin, but might make younger women breakout.
  • BathAndBodyWorks.com: Patricia Wexler MD Universal Anti-Aging Solution Kit. The Resurfacing Microbrasion System is the best exfoliating product for women who wear mineral makeup.
  • Sephora.com: Kinerase Super Stars. The cleanser is great, the cream is supposed to be phenomenal, and all the little tubes are just the right size to throw into a carry-on bag.

Every woman has different skin, so read the return policy when buying beauty products online. No matter how many women rave about a product, an individual female may find she's allergic to it, or feel that it's not worth the money.

Travel Makeup

Mineral makeup is one of the easiest beauty products for travel because it can’t break and spill as easily as a bottle of liquid. Check out one of these:

  • Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals.
  • Eminence Organic Sun Defense. This is great for travel because it’s an all-in-one brush and powder package, and it has sunscreen. Nifty.
  • Alima foundation samples. Alima comes in about 60 colors so there is a good color match for most women. Purchase little samples for small change. Their makeup brushes are also popular.

Another option is to find makeup that comes in a tube or a small non-breakable container. The Smashbox Try Me Set has tiny portions of primer, eyeliner, gloss and more, and Cargo Liquid Foundation comes packaged in a weird squishy pouch. Look at Ulta.com for travel sizes.

Here are some other products that can make travel beauty easier:

  • E.L.F. Eyeliner Pen
  • Smashbox Primer with Bronzer
  • Cargo Daily Gloss bubbles
  • Bare Minerals Eyeshadows
  • Benefit A Little Bit BadGal Lash Mascara (mini)

Travel Accessories

Women who prefer to travel with their usual make up products will like the Empty Magnetic Palettes at Coastal Scents. They come with 4 or 12 empty pans in a little case. Fill the pans with anything and keep the case close at hand.

Rick Steves recommends Nalgene Travel Bottles, and they seem to be just right for filling with makeup.

Tweezerman Mirror and Tweezer Kit. The slanted tip is better for travel because the pointed tip will stab a gal’s finger when she rummages around in her bag.

Epicare is is a little metal coil that is used to remove fuzzy facial hair. It weighs nothing, is cheaper than waxing or other hair removal methods, and it’s funny looking. But, it works.

Body Lotion

One great little kit is the Caudalie Beauty to Go Trio, at Sephora.com. It has small containers of a French drugstore brand. The hand cream is fabulous for winter dryness and small enought to stash anywhere. The set also has body lotion and lip conditioner.

Hair Care Products

If taking a hair curler, straightener, or blow dryer to a foreign country, check to see what kinds of electrical currents and plug prongs are appropriate.

For small travel sizes of favorite hair products, try Sephora.com, but hair can be lower maintenance with a dry shampoo:

  • Psssssst Spray Shampoo. This works best for blondes or gal’s with gray. It fluffs up hair to make it look thicker which is fabulous for women with thinning hair.
  • Batiste Dry Shampoo or Klorane may be better for darker hair.

Always pack toiletries in outside pockets of suitcases, or inside waterproof plastic bags, because there will be less damage if the containers break en route.
