Whether its a 1940’s feel or ‘80s vibe, a splash of acid drop color or a country casual houndtooth print, this winter’s diversity of trends come in a variety of guises to tempt all tastes.
1940s Sophistication
Tailored skirt suits reflect the Hollywood glamour of the 1940s with structured silhouettes in dramatic reds, and sharp cuts that give the illusion of tiny waists. This oh-so-feminine era is also embodied in the revival of luxurious fabrics, mainly velvet and fur (faux of course). Invest in a statement ‘40s-style coat and bring it up to date with a woolen snood or some of this season’s long leather elbow-length gloves. Go for a neutral, enduring color and this coat will stay stylish for many seasons.
1980s Sparkle
Disco-inspired metallics and sequinned dresses and jackets with Dynasty-style shoulders are some of this season's favorites. Country Casual Comfort
When it comes to casual think chunky sweater dresses and cardigan-coats finished off with oversized knitted accessories. A long woolen scarf and legwarmers add to a layered look, along with a sloppy snood to be worn round the neck in place of a scarf or necklace.
