Late September marks the end of spring and a change in season for fashion trends. This Fall, vibrant hues are paired with demure colors to create a rich, elegant look.
Vivid colors that were once reserved for the warmer months are now hot hues for fall fashion. "The Color Purple"Deep indigo and purple shades made a statement on the runway at New York’s Fashion Week. Everything from purple shoes and dresses will be hot items for fall fashion. Purple coordinates well with greys and browns, the typical neutral colors for fall and winter. For a subtle look, wear purple with black, or incorporate it into your wardrobe with a purse or scarf. Glamorize your night out with lavender eye shadows or eyeliners, clutches and classic heels. Floral prints, suede or satin, the color purple is a must-have for fall. Other popular shades are royal purple, mauve, lilac, lavender and amethyst. Red HotLuscious reds also made a daring statement on runways at New York’s Fashion Week. Red hues, once reserved for the warm summer months, can make any outfit stand out. This season reds are paired with winter white, or cream, and blacks for a sophisticated look. Red will also be a popular plaid print for coats, purses and scarves. Deep Greens and BluesThe soothing colors also blend well with neutral fall colors and are a great color to accessorize with purples and blacks. Deep greens like emerald and other jewel tones are paired with black, grey and brown, as well as navy blue, light blue and turquoise. Blue and green floral, checkered and plaid prints are also popular this season. Winter WhiteWearing white after Labor Day is no longer a fashion faux pas and is even encouraged. White, once reserved for spring and summer fashions, is making a comeback and for fall and winter. If classic white is too bright for your taste, winter white, or cream, is an acceptable substitute. White and winter white blend well with the neutral colors of fall as well as the bold colors and floral prints. Designers like Chanel, Betsey Johnson and Ralph Lauren combine winter white with red and black. Sweaters, purses, pantsuits, jackets, pants and even white jeans are in style for fall. White heels, however, should be left for the summer months. Basic BlackYou can never go wrong with black. Black slacks, skirts, sweaters, pants, heels and of course, the little black dress, are must-have pieces that work for all occasions and all seasons. Black goes with every popular color this season and is a slimming look for any body type. When in doubt, wear black.
