Many high-street labels are stocking their shelves with what is likely to prove one of this season’s biggest hits. Spanish fashion chain Zara has a large selection of trendy tees, and Urban Outfitters have a collection of round and V-necks. If you really want to be noticed, then go for one of this summer’s bold colors, yellow or pink.
The luxury British fashion label Mulberry, has launched some limited edition animal print tees by artist Julie Verhoeven. At £50 each these are designer T-shirts at high street prices, but are growing increasingly hard to find, so grab one while you can.
Socialites and celebrities are going crazy for Lauren Moshi's oversized t-shirts. Wear one as a dress or throw a tee over your bikini, for some beach chic. From biker choppers to leopard or zebra prints, celebrities such as Christina Aguilera, Sienna Miller and Paris Hilton and beau, Benji, have been seen touting so many Moshi designs they are a walking advertisement for the brand. If you prefer something cuter then go for a teddy bear, butterfly or a horse print. Priced at around £65 or $85, find Lauren Moschi's hand drawn designer tees at Shopstyle.com or spoiled.brat.co.uk. These chari-tee’s are available at Top Shop stores and from Topshop.com. At £20 a pop there are likely to be frequent sightings of this sought-after print. Be prepared to see it on celebrities and fashion-forward shoppers, who want to help a good cause and be right on-trend at the same time.
If you fancy yourself as a budding Picasso then you too can design your own printed tee. Make your own fashion statement, or provide a unique and unusual gift for friends and family. There are a number of websites which offer this service, including expertshirt.com, which has art staff available to assist you with your design.
Good news for women is that many of these printed tees are longer-length T-shirts, and therefore cover a multitude of sins. Compared to those which sit on the waist, tunic-length tees cover-up your stomach, waist and hips. If you have some extra pounds, avoid buying one that clings too tightly. Go for a style which skims rather than clings, to avoid being resembling an over-stuffed sausage! The Kate Moss Starlight Charity Tee has a lower, scoop-neck, showing more of your décolletage. This neckline is more flattering on most women, that a typical higher round neck. V-necks and lower-cut scoop necks work well for big-busted women, however if you have a boyish figure then you have no such issues to worry about! Online stores Boohoo.com and Asos have an extensive range of reasonably-priced tees to choose from.
Given its longer length, the printed tee is one of the easiest day-to-night outfits. Wear it with high heels for evening glamour, and skinny jeans and flats during the day. Keep the rest of your outfit simple, and avoid clashing, busy prints.
