Beat the Blues with a Few Suggestions for Boosting Self Confidence

Don't let a "not so skinny" day drag you down. Take these few extra steps to ensure an extra bounce in your step all day long, exude confidence and beauty.

All women have days when they feel less than special. Whether you label it as a "fat day" a "bad hair day" or just a mild case of the blues, it isn't unusual to feel less than perfect. There are a few things that every woman can do to boost her self confidence and put an extra bounce in her step on otherwise gloomy days.

Grooming Makes a Difference

Ever have those mornings when you look in the mirror and debate whether or not you can make it through the day without washing you're hair? Maybe you're running a few minutes behind, or simply don't feel like going to the extra trouble. If you have to ask yourself, you should do it. Take the extra time to wash your hair, and you'll appreciate it later. Even if you just wear it in a pony tail all day, clean healthy hair can make you feel prettier when you look in the mirror.

Instead of rushing through five minutes of mascara during the morning commute, step away from your desk and spend a few minutes in the bathroom applying your makeup with care. All day long as you catch glimpses of yourself, you'll feel better when you look dolled up. Self confidence is naturally exuded by women who feel pretty, and you're worth the extra time.

Accessorize

Even if you're on a budget, allocate a few dollars to spend on a pricey accessory. It may sound silly, but saving up to spend $300 on a designer hand bag is worth it just for the way it will make you feel when you carry it. Name brands and designer items do not define a woman, but accentuating an outfit with a drop dead gorgeous extra will make you feel important and special. If expensive accessories simply aren't a possibility, shop at local department stores on the sale racks and buy a clutch or some costume jewelry that is totally different from your normal style. Adding flair to an otherwise boring outfit can give you a much needed boost of brazen confidence.

Flirting with Yourself and Others

Married, single or otherwise doesn't matter. Take the time to share a smile with someone you've never seen before, and will never see again. A wink from a passerby, or a returned smile from a stranger is sometimes all it takes to remind a woman that she's beautiful.

Flirt without flirting by trying on an exotic perfume. A little dab in the morning will serve as a constant reminder of how appealing you are. Consider it flirting with yourself.

Always spend an extra dollar on pretty underwear. Even if no one else sees it, knowing that underneath your slacks and blouse you have some racy black lace, or delicate pink chiffon will make you feel like a goddess as you walk through your office. The extra bounce in your step will be enough to turn heads and bring you out of your slump.
