Fun leggings, nylons, tights, and stockings are back to spice up everything from business suits to evening dresses. Find which one works best for you.

For the past few seasons leg wear has been the new trend to merge into your wardrobe. Brands such as HUE and DKNY have style that can be worn in just about any setting.

Opaque and Patterned Tights for Work

If the majority of your time is spent behind a desk or in board meetings, then the preferred choice for you would be opaque and patterned tights. The difference between most tights and leggings is that tights are closed toe and leggings normally stop at the ankle. A thicker tight will keep you warm enough to wear skirts throughout the winter season, and now with colors ranging from hot pink to burnt orange it’s easy to add some spice to a boring business suit.

If you choose a patterned tight, try a subtle pattern or a black on black pattern that adds texture to your look. Patterned tights can be worn with boots of any length or your favorite pair of pumps. Be sure to opt for a neutral tight if your shoe is a bright color, or vice versa.

Fun Leggings for Girls Night Out

When planning your look for a Friday night out, don’t be afraid to take risks and go for leggings that will be the stand out piece of your outfit. Since leggings are such a hot trend there are styles of all varieties now. Armani Exchange has a pair of foil leggings for $48 that can be easily paired with a little black dress and hidden platform pumps for a sexy sleek look.

Shopbop also has leggings with styles such as C&C California’s 3/4 lace legging that can be worn with a vintage style floral dress and leather jacket for an eclectic look; Or with a sequined mini dress for a special evening out.

Casual Leggings for Class or Running Errands

To the surprise of many, leggings are a very comfortable alternative to jeans and a t-shirt for heading to class or the market. A tunic or oversized sweater with a pair of flat ankle boots can compliment a pair of cotton leggings and look more put together. For these more casual environments cotton leggings are more appropriate than nylon or polyester.

Cotton leggings can also help you carry your summer wardrobe into the fall season. Your favorite shorts paired with a fun patterned legging and mid-calf boots can give you better bang for your buck. Same applies to dresses and skirts.
